Lake Street Dive in Portland
Saturday Night at Thompson’s Point was a good one. The perfect late summer evening set the perfect stage for Lake Street Dives annual return to Portland’s iconic outdoor venue. The sold out crowd was excited and relaxed as the band took the stage, singing and dancing the whole night. The set included songs from across their discography, new material, and some beloved covers, including one with opening act Couch’s lead singer Tema Siegel.
Couch got the party as the sun began to set. With as many shirts in the crowd as Lake Street Dive, the Boston band had the crowd engaged and dancing from the first note. Their set focused on their first album, but also included favorite covers and a good mix of other releases.
A weekend at Thompson’s point has become a summer staple for Lake Street Dive, so keep an eye out for next year, and any time either of these bands come through town, you won’t regret it.
