Saint Micah Embraces New Love on “Papillon”

NEW YORK, NY — August 28, 2026 — Pop artist and virtuoso pianist Saint Micah, formerly known as Micah McLaurin, has released his latest single “Papillon” via Casa Doce Music. The second release from his new creative era, the track blends polished dance-pop with Saint Micah's signature piano-driven sensibility.

Inspired by the butterflies that come with falling for someone new, “Papillon” takes its name from the French word for butterfly. The song captures the excitement, uncertainty, and rush of a new connection while pairing its romantic subject matter with an elegant French-inspired piano bridge.

“‘Papillon’ is inspired by the feeling of getting butterflies in your stomach when you like someone new,” Saint Micah explains. “I’ve had this experience a few times and I think many other people have, too.”

The single follows “The Grind,” an energetic dance-pop track centered on the tension between societal expectations and staying true to yourself. The song recently received a remix from GRAMMY-winning producer and DJ Dave Audé, whose version climbed to No. 13 on Music Week's Commercial Pop Club Chart. Its accompanying music video was directed by visual artists and fashion photographers Domen and Van De Velde.

Saint Micah has also built a reputation for bringing together music, fashion, and visual art. His collaborations have included producers PhD, creative director Nicola Formichetti, designer Zaldy, and major fashion houses including Dolce & Gabbana, Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood, and others.

About Saint Micah

Born in Charleston, South Carolina, Micah McLaurin trained at the Curtis Institute of Music and Juilliard before establishing himself internationally as a concert pianist. After moving to New York, he found a creative home within queer culture and began merging his classical background with contemporary pop.

His viral “Rhapsody in Gaga” piano medley helped introduce that crossover to a wider audience, followed by Diamonds, an instrumental album recorded with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

Now performing as Saint Micah, he uses his music and artistry to explore individuality, freedom, and sexuality while reclaiming parts of himself shaped by a restrictive upbringing.
